Mike and Kimberly
Mike Straub began his career after a term in the United States Marine Corps. His first exposure to the world of fine jewelry came as part of the sales staff of Brodnax Jewelers in Memphis, Tennessee. Straub’s affiliation with the guild division of the Zales Corporation brought him back to Milwaukee in the mid 1970’s. Dedication and drive led to district management of the Bailey Banks & Biddle store. In 1980, colleague John Treiber joined with Straub to open Treiber & Straub Jewelers in Milwaukee’s Mayfair Mall. With a firm commitment to the concept of presenting beautiful pieces created by the finest jewelry designers, they quickly built a reputation for excellence in quality, selection and service. Upon the retirement of Treiber in 1995, Mike Straub became sole owner and president of Treiber & Straub.
Kimberly Straub started working part-time for her father in April of 1995, while finishing her bachelor’s degree at the University of WI-Milwaukee. Upon graduation Straub had a desire to enter the jewelry business full-time with her father. In order to excel in her career and gain a better understanding for gemology she attended the Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad, CA., where she obtained her graduate gemologist degree in 1999. Kimberly later went on to earn her title as a certified gemologist through the American Gem Society and was named CEO of Treiber & Straub in 2005. Under the wing of her father she attended many trade-shows and learned the art of purchasing for the company. “I truly enjoy the industry and the latest fashions, and I feel extremely fortunate to have been surrounded by the luxury end of the business.” Over the past ten years Kimberly has attended several training seminars hosted by the worlds leading watch designers, earning her certification from Rolex, Cartier and Patek Philippe. After touring both Cartier and Patek Philippe’s facilities in Switzerland, she learned a great appreciation for the history, craftsmanship, and intricacy of the brands.
